Weather Alert: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana Till June 15

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather forecast, predicting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several southern states over the coming days. According to IMD, a combination of cyclonic circulations and trough systems will impact weather conditions across the country, especially in the southern peninsula.
Due to the active southwest monsoon, many parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
🌧️ Kerala, Mahe to See Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall
- June 10 to 15: Widespread rainfall expected in Kerala and Mahe.
- June 12 to 15: The IMD has issued a warning for extremely heavy rainfall during this period.
- People are advised to stay alert and follow local administration advisories due to possible waterlogging and flash floods.
⛈️ Karnataka Weather Forecast
- Coastal Karnataka is expected to receive moderate to heavy rain on June 10 and from June 11 to 15.
- Between June 12 and 14, some areas may experience extremely heavy downpours.
- Thunderstorm activity with lightning is likely throughout the week.
🌩️ Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal: Thunderstorms and Rain Likely
- Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is likely to occur at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal up to June 13.
- Wind speeds may reach 30-50 km/h in thunderstorm-prone areas.
- From June 13 to 15, very heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of the region.
🌬️ Telangana and Rayalaseema to See Strong Winds and Rain
- On June 12 and 13, thunderstorms with wind speeds of 50-70 km/h are likely in Telangana and Rayalaseema.
- Heavy rainfall is also expected at isolated locations, possibly causing temporary disruptions.
☔ Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam
- IMD has forecast heavy rainfall on June 13 for Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
- June 10 to 12: Scattered showers with gusty winds (50-70 km/h) are likely in the region.
🌧️ Rain Intensifies Over Konkan and Goa
- Konkan-Goa region, including parts of Maharashtra and Goa, will see a rise in rain activity starting June 12.
- June 12 and 15: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected.
- June 13 and 14: An extremely heavy rainfall alert has been issued. Thunderstorm activity is also likely during this period.

- The weather patterns are influenced by a trough extending from northwest Uttar Pradesh to Telangana, as well as multiple cyclonic circulations over the Bay of Bengal.
