Tech Tip: Nowadays, any app you install asks for access to your location. Many apps ask for the "Allow all the time" location permission.

(Android users should not give this permission)
Tech Tips: In this digital world, people increasingly use smartphones. There are countless apps available online that make their tasks easier. From ordering food to booking tickets, almost everything is done through apps.
But it's often seen that people enable many permissions when installing new apps on their devices, which, knowingly or unknowingly, exposes your personal information to apps. Therefore, today we're going to tell you about five such app permissions that you should disable immediately.
Location Access
Nowadays, when you install any app, it asks for access to your location. Many apps ask for the "Allow all the time" location permission. If you grant this permission, the app will continue to track your every activity in the background. Therefore, if the app doesn't require location access all the time, you should choose the "While using the app" or "Don't Allow" option.
Contacts Permission
It's worth noting that some games, photo editors, and seemingly normal apps also ask for Contacts permission. Although these apps don't need Contacts, they still ask for them. This gives them access to the numbers saved on your phone. To avoid this, only give Contacts access to messaging or calling apps. Remove this permission from all other apps.
Microphone Permission
Additionally, many apps request microphone access that has nothing to do with voice recording. Excessive microphone permissions can pose a threat to your privacy. Therefore, microphone permissions should only be granted to essential apps, such as video calls, recording, or voice assistants.
Camera Permission
Nowadays, many apps access camera permissions, which can pose a threat to your privacy. So, if an app doesn't use the camera but still asks for camera permission, be cautious. Granting unnecessary camera access can be risky.
SMS and Phone Permission
Some apps ask for permission to read, send, or manage calls. Granting this access to the wrong app could put your sensitive information, including OTPs, messages, and calls, at risk. Therefore, only grant SMS and Phone permissions to trusted apps, such as banking, default messaging, or calling.
How to check App Permissions?
You can easily check app permissions on your smartphone by following these steps.
Open Settings.
Go to Apps or App Management.
Select the Permissions option.
Check all permissions carefully, such as Camera, Microphone, Location, Contacts, and SMS. Immediately disable permissions for apps that don't require them.
