An incident of lightning struck a village in Chittorgarh district on Friday morning. In this accident, a young man died on the spot, while four others were scorched. The administration has started the process of providing relief to the affected families.

In the Banswara district of South Rajasthan, about 8 inches (200 mm) of rain was recorded within the last 24 hours. Due to this heavy rain, waterlogging has occurred in the low-lying areas. Many villages have lost contact with the district headquarters.

According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, the districts of Rajasthan where there is a rain alert on Friday include Chittorgarh, Banswara, Udaipur, Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Baran, Nagaur, Pali, Jaisalmer and Barmer, among others.

There is a possibility of thunderstorms (lightning) along with heavy rains in these areas. Farmers and common people have been advised to remain alert.

The administration and the Meteorological Department have appealed to the public not to leave the house without any urgent work in bad weather. Avoid standing in open spaces and under trees in areas prone to lightning.
