Now the final battle between India and New Zealand will be on March 9 to win the trophy. The team that makes it to the final will be rich but the teams losing in the semi-finals will not return empty handed. ICC has fixed an amount of 2.24 million dollars (about Rs 19.5 crore) for the team winning the tournament.
The Indian team made it to the finals by defeating Australia in the first semi-final, while New Zealand defeated South Africa and once again shattered their dream of winning the ICC trophy. Team India won the match by 4 wickets while the Kiwi team won the semi-final match by a huge margin of 50 runs. Both India and New Zealand were together in Group A. India had defeated New Zealand in the league stage.
How much will the losing semi-finalists earn?
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set a total prize money of $6.9 million for the 2025 Champions Trophy. This is 53 percent more than the 2017 tournament. The winning team will get $2.24 million (about Rs 19.5 crore), while the runner-up team will be given $1.12 million (about Rs 9.78 crore). The reward for the teams eliminated in the semi-finals is also quite good. The semi-finalists will receive a prize money of $560,000 (about Rs 4.89 crore) from the ICC.
