Gujarat Titans defeated Punjab Kings in a thrilling match in IPL-2023. Rahul Tewatia once again showed his finishing style and brought Gujarat out of a difficult situation to get another win. Another player had an important contribution in Gujarat's victory. The name of this player is Shubman Gill. Opener Gill played an inning of 67 runs. But former India opener Virender Sehwag has strongly criticized Gill.

Batting first, Punjab scored 153 runs losing eight wickets. Gujarat achieved this target by losing four wickets in 19.5 overs. For that, Gill played an inning of 67 runs in 49 balls with the help of seven fours and a six. During this, his strike rate was 136.73.

'Cricket se chance'
Sehwag, however, has said that Gill played a slow inning and if he thinks like this then cricket will slap him. Talking on Cricbuzz's show, Sehwag said that he scored 67 runs in 49 balls. But when did he reach his fifty? Sehwag said that his half-century was completed in 41-42 balls. Again he scored 17 runs in seven-eight balls. Sehwag said you cannot think in such a way that if I make fifty, we will win the match somehow.

He said that when you think about your performance, you will get slapped by cricket. Sehwag said that if Gill had shown a little more intent and played closer to the strike rate of 200, he would have made Fifty earlier and would have saved balls for the team as well.

Gill accepted the mistake
After the match, however, Gill also felt that he could have finished the match early and he had to stay till the last. Captain Hardik Pandya also expressed disappointment over the match going till the last over. He said that he has a lot to learn from this match. He said that if Punjab wins the match then it will be difficult for his team to tolerate.
