In the 51st match of IPL 2023, younger brother Hardik Pandya's team Gujarat Titans defeated elder Krunal Pandya's Lucknow Super Giants by 56 runs. In the match played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat had given a target of 228 runs to Lucknow. But, the Lucknow team was able to score only 171 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. This is Gujarat's second win over Lucknow in this season. Earlier, Gujarat defeated the hosts by 7 runs in a low-scoring match in Lucknow. With this victory, Gujarat strengthened its position in the points table. Gujarat now has 16 points with 8 wins and the team's place in the playoffs is almost confirmed.

Lucknow Super Giants got off to a good start chasing the target of 228 runs. In the absence of KL Rahul, Quinton Dickock started the innings with Kyle Myers. This was Dickock's first match of IPL 2023. He got a chance to play after 8 matches. Dickock made full use of it and rained fours and sixes in the powerplay. He and Kyle Myers hit 72 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay. This is the team's third-highest score in powerplay in IPL.
Dickock-Myers get Lucknow off to a good start
In the 9th over of Lucknow Super Giants' innings, Mohit Sharma broke the dangerous pair by dismissing Myers. Rashid Khan took a brilliant catch of Myers at the boundary. After the dismissal of Myers, the pace of runs of Lucknow stopped and the team scored only 25 runs in the next 4 overs. Meanwhile, Dickock completed his 50 runs. However, Lucknow suffered due to a low run rate and the team lost the match.

Stormy innings of Gill-Saha
Earlier, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha batted stormy for Gujarat Titans. Both of them added 142 runs for the first wicket in 12.1 overs. Saha completed his 50 runs in just 20 balls. Saha was dismissed after scoring 81 runs in 43 balls. He hit 10 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. Even after his dismissal, Shubman Gill continued batting fast. He missed the century by 6 runs. Gill played an unbeaten 94 in 51 balls. Due to the stormy batting of these two, Gujarat scored 227 runs losing 2 wickets in 20 overs, which is Gujarat's biggest score in IPL.
