It was only after seeing what happened in the 22nd match of IPL 2023 that it was bound to happen. How can a player break the law and live without being punished? And, the same thing was seen here as well. First of all, let us tell you that here we are talking about the law of cricket and its breakdown. Three players from two teams ie Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders have been punished for violating the rules of cricket.

The three players who have been sentenced include Mumbai Indians captain Suryakumar Yadav, KKR captain Nitish Rana and Mumbai Indians bowler Hrithik Shokeen in this match. Each player has received different punishment and this punishment has been given to them after admitting their mistake in front of the match referee.

Suryakumar Yadav was fined Rs 12 lakh
Now just know about the mistake and punishments of this three one by one. First of all, Suryakumar Yadav, who was the captain of Mumbai Indians in the match, has been found guilty of slow overrate. And, in lieu of this, a fine of Rs 12 lakh has been imposed on him. Suryakumar Yad is the fourth captain in IPL 2023 to suffer a loss of 12 lakhs due to a slow overrate. Before him, Faf du Plessis, Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya have also been fined.

Nitish Rana's match fee cut by 25 per cent
KKR captain Nitish Rana has been punished for using foul language on the field during the match. The match referee has found him guilty of a Level 1 offence under Section 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. His match fee has been deducted by 25 per cent as punishment.

Heavy fine on Hrithik Shokeen
Apart from Nitish Rana, Mumbai Indians bowler Hrithik Shokeen has also been fined for violation of rules. His match fee has been cut by 10 per cent. He has been held guilty of Level 1 under Section 2.5 of the IPL's Code of Conduct.

In fact, there was an altercation on the field between both Nitish and Hrithik, after which there were a lot of uproars. This incident happened in the 9th over of KKR's innings, which came to a boil when Hrithik Shokeen took the wicket of Nitish Rana.

However, the good thing is that despite this incident, these players have not been banned from playing the match. They have just been fined for their own mistakes. Meaning these three will be available for their teams in the next match as well.
