MS Dhoni has recently been hinting at a possible participation in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan recently mentioned that he is looking forward to seeing MS Dhoni come back and play for CSK.
Dhoni will decide on his IPL future
Dhoni will meet the CSK management on October 31 to discuss player retention, which is one of the major decisions to be made before the deadline. It is a discussion that is taking place at a time when discussions over his playing future are in full swing, especially when fans and analysts are deliberating on whether this could be his last season with the team.
Who will replace Dhoni?
With the debate over Dhoni's role still ongoing, the CSK franchise has now started looking for a new wicketkeeper to strengthen the ranks. The Indian Express has now carried a report claiming that the franchise is seriously looking at Rishabh Pant, as he recently shared a cryptic post about a possible entry in the IPL auction. Pant's inclusion will almost completely change the composition of CSK, especially since the team is moving on from Dhoni's command in the near future.
If Rishabh Pant comes into the auction pool, CSK are keen to add him to their side
The report claims- "If Rishabh Pant comes into the auction pool, there is a strong possibility that all this could change as the franchise could be linked as a potential new destination for the India wicketkeeper. CSK are set for a big change keeping the future in mind,"
Rishabh Pant has been brilliant in the IPL, scoring 3284 runs in 111 matches. This includes one century and 18 half-centuries. He averages 35.31 and has a strike rate of 148.93.
