The vehicle of Mumbai Indians seems to be back on track. After losing the first 2 matches in IPL 2023, Mumbai won the third match in a row. The Mumbai team led by Rohit Sharma defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home. Mumbai had given Hyderabad a target of 193 runs in 20 overs, chasing which the Hyderabad team got all out for 178 runs. Mumbai won this match by 14 runs. The top order of Sunrisers Hyderabad flopped in this match. Harry Brook, who scored a century in the last match, failed against Mumbai and scored 9 runs. Mayank Agarwal scored the maximum 48 runs. Had a good start with captain Aiden Markram. But, got piled on 22 runs. Hyderabad had scored 42 runs losing 2 wickets in the powerplay.
Heinrich Klaasen raised some hope by raining fours and sixes in the middle over. But, after he dismissed 36 runs in 16 balls, Hyderabad's wickets fell continuously and the team lost. For Mumbai Indians, Jason Behrendorff took 2 wickets, and Riley Meredith took 2 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. Tim David did not bowl in the match. But, along with taking 4 catches, Washington Sundar was run out on a direct throw. This is Sunrisers Hyderabad's third defeat in the fifth match. The team is in the 9th position in the points table. Arjun Tendulkar bowled an amazing last over and got his first IPL wicket in the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He also bowled the first over for Mumbai.

But, Ishaan Kishan played an inning of 38 runs in 31 balls. Cameron Green, who came at number three, played the most important innings. He hit an unbeaten 60 runs in 40 balls. This is his first fifty in IPL. Tilak Verma also supported him fully and batted very fast. Tilak hit 37 runs in just 17 balls. Mumbai added 48 runs in the last 4 overs. Green bowling also did wonders. He took 1 wicket for 29 runs in his 4 overs.
