According to Dr. Nishith Kumar, this new testing method is very useful in confirming lung, liver, kidney tumors, swelling deep inside the chest or abdomen, bone-related diseases and cancer.

New CT scan facility installed at Safdarjung Hospital
The patient diagnosis process at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital has become easier, safer, and more advanced. New technology will make it possible to diagnose serious diseases without surgery, saving patients time, risk, and expense. This modern procedure eliminates the need for surgery to remove tissue from the patient's body for testing. Advanced CT scan technology will allow for tissue or fluid samples to be taken by injecting the affected organ.
This process will make diagnosis more accurate and save patients unnecessary pain and risk. Two new CT scan machines have recently been installed at the hospital, increasing both the capacity and speed of testing.
Major relief in lung, liver and cancer testing
According to Professor Dr. Nishith Kumar, nodal officer for the hospital's Corporate Social Responsibility program, this new diagnostic method is extremely useful in diagnosing lung, liver, kidney tumors, deep swelling in the chest or abdomen, bone diseases, and cancer. Using the clear imaging of a CT scan, doctors guide the needle to the exact location and complete the test by taking a very small sample.
Get rid of expensive and risky surgery
Dr. Amita Malik, head of the Department of Radiology, explained that previously, many patients had to undergo surgical biopsy for this type of examination. This procedure was not only expensive but also fraught with complications and time. CT scan-guided needle examination has largely eliminated this problem, as it is less risky and the results are more reliable.
Financially weak patients will get free benefits
Dr. Amita Malik stated that this CT scan test will be provided completely free of charge. This will provide significant relief, especially to patients with financial difficulties. They will no longer have to resort to private hospitals or travel to other cities to confirm serious illnesses.
New machines will increase testing capacity
According to Professor Dharmendra Kumar Singh, Safdarjung Hospital previously had only one CT scan machine, which could examine approximately 150 patients daily. Due to the large number of patients, there were often long waits. Now, with the addition of two new machines, the daily number of CT scans will increase significantly. The hospital administration believes that this facility will enable timely detection of serious diseases and provide better treatment to patients.
