23 hours of torture! Storm alert in these states, including UP-Bihar, Haryana-Punjab, and Delhi. It will rain heavily.

Weather Forecast Today: Rain continues across the country. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for many districts from UP, Bihar to Rajasthan and the South Indian state of Kerala.

Due to monsoon, rain continues across the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains with thunderstorms in UP, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand today (July 23, 2025) and in the next 23 hours. According to IMD, heavy rains are expected in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Konkan, and Goa in the next few days. 

The Meteorological Department has predicted very heavy rains at isolated places in Kullu, Chamba, Mandi and Kangra in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh in the next 3 hours. A yellow alert has been issued for the possibility of heavy rains and floods in the areas of Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti, Shimla, Solan, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Sirmaur.

 

 

Relief from heavy rain in Rajasthan 

Rajasthan has got some relief from the heavy rains. On Tuesday (July 22, 2025), many districts including Bharatpur, Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli received up to 2 inches of rain. After the rains slowed down in western Rajasthan, the heat increased. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of increase in rain activities in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department, an alert has been issued for thunderstorms and lightning in about 52 districts, including western, eastern and many other areas of Uttar Pradesh. 

Flood threat in Bihar 

The water level of Ganga and Budhi Gandak rivers in Bihar is rising rapidly, due to which water has started entering the flood-affected areas. Although water had not reached the houses till Tuesday evening, crops have been submerged on a large scale due to the flood. Ganga is flowing 33 centimeters above the danger mark. 

Orange alert in many districts of Kerala 

IMD has issued an orange alert for 9 districts of Kerala, warning of heavy rains. Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod may receive heavy rains. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts.
