Mallikarjun Kharge News: Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that today the Speaker directed the Parliamentary Affairs Minister to convey the opposition's sentiments to the Home Minister and ask him to come to the House.

A deadlock continues in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over the lathicharge at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Opposition parties are demanding a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge made a major claim in the Rajya Sabha.
He said on Thursday (August 6), "I am happy that the Rajya Sabha Chairman has conveyed to the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister that all the members of the House want Home Minister Amit Shah to come to the House and present his views."
We want discussion – Kharge
Mallikarjun Kharge said, "For the past 15 days, the opposition has been demanding a discussion on the atrocities committed against students and the brutal actions taken against them. The way the students were lathi-charged, bullets were fired, and even unwarranted means were used. Pellet guns, tear gas shells, and shock batons were even used against the students."
The Congress president said, "We wanted Home Minister Amit Shah to come to the House and explain who ordered the lathi charge. Did police officers order the use of lathi charge, pellet guns, shock batons, and tear gas? We wanted to ask these questions and a government statement on the entire matter. What compulsion is the government facing that it is not issuing a statement on this issue? This is arrogance. The Home Minister is absent from the House, and so is the Prime Minister."
We have two demands – Kharge
Kharge said, "We have two demands: PM Modi should apologize, and Amit Shah should come to the House and answer. We are not asking for anything else. We want the House to function peacefully; Amit Shah should come to the House and answer, and Prime Minister Modi should come and apologize to the parents of all the students."
He said, "You don't want to answer in the House. This is why the House is unable to function. The government is responsible for this deadlock. We raised this issue in the Rajya Sabha with all seriousness and demanded answers from the government on the alleged police excesses. Our Rajya Sabha MPs met with the Chairman. We urged him to demand that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologize and Home Minister Amit Shah make a statement in the House on this issue."
Regarding the Jharkhand paper leak, Mallikarjun Kharge said, "We stand with the students, whether it's Jharkhand or any other state. Wherever there's a mistake, we will raise our voice. We stand with the students and will continue to fight for their rights."
