According to media reports, on December 3, 2025, scientists from Austria's Vienna University of Technology and German company Cerabyte have jointly created a QR Code which has been declared the world's smallest QR Code by Guinness World Records.

This QR code measures approximately 1.977 square microns. It's so small that it's impossible to read with a standard camera or QR scanner. An electron microscope is required to view and scan it. One side is approximately 70 times thinner than standard paper.
