Who was Sharif Osman Hadi?

Sharif Osman Hadi was an influential student leader in Bangladesh and was associated with the anti-Sheikh Hasina movement, the Inquilab Mancha. He was campaigning as an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming February elections when he was attacked. The Inquilab Mancha had made headlines during last year's July Movement, which ultimately paved the way for Sheikh Hasina's ouster from power.
