Candidates preparing for the Rajasthan Physical Training Instructor (PTI) Recruitment have received an important update from the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB). The recruitment examination, which was earlier expected to be held in September 2026, has now been postponed, and the exam is likely to take place in 2027.
The development comes as a significant change for thousands of aspirants who have been preparing for the recruitment process and waiting for the official notification.
PTI Examination Will Not Be Held in September 2026
According to the latest information shared by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, the PTI recruitment examination will not be conducted on September 13, 2026, as previously anticipated.
The delay has been attributed to pending clarifications related to recruitment rules and procedural matters. Officials have indicated that the examination schedule cannot move forward until all regulatory and administrative issues are resolved.
As a result, candidates may have to wait longer than expected for both the notification and the examination process.
RSSB Chairman Shares Official Update
RSSB Chairman Alok Raj confirmed the development through a post on social media platform X.
He stated that the official recruitment notification for PTI posts will be released only after all recruitment-related rules and guidelines are finalized. Until then, the board will not announce the detailed schedule for applications or examinations.
According to the chairman:
- The PTI recruitment examination is unlikely to be conducted in 2026.
- The board is currently targeting April 2027 for the examination.
- The final exam schedule will be announced only after recruitment regulations receive complete clarification.
Recruitment Notification Also Delayed
Earlier plans suggested that RSSB would issue the PTI recruitment notification by the end of June 2026, followed by the opening of the online application process.
Candidates were expected to receive approximately one month to submit their applications. However, due to the delay in finalizing recruitment rules, the entire recruitment timeline has been pushed back.
As of now, the board has not released the official advertisement for the vacancies.
Around 900 PTI Vacancies Expected
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board is expected to recruit approximately 900 Physical Training Instructors across the state.
These positions are likely to be filled in government educational institutions, where selected candidates will be responsible for physical education and sports-related activities.
While the vacancy estimate has been discussed, the exact number of posts, category-wise distribution, reservation details, and district allocation will be known only after the official notification is published.

Applicants should verify eligibility details in the official notification once it is released.

The proposed age criteria for the recruitment are:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
The age calculation is expected to be based on January 1, 2027.
Age Relaxation Benefits
Reserved-category candidates will be eligible for age relaxation as per Rajasthan government rules. The benefit is expected to be available to:
- Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates
- Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates
- Female candidates
The exact relaxation details will be provided in the official recruitment advertisement.
What Candidates Should Do Now
Although the postponement may disappoint many aspirants, the additional preparation time could prove beneficial. Candidates can use the extended period to strengthen their subject knowledge, improve physical fitness, and prepare for the recruitment examination more thoroughly.
Until the official notification is released, candidates are advised to follow updates from the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board and keep necessary educational and identity documents ready for the application process.
With nearly 900 vacancies expected and the exam now likely to be held in April 2027, aspirants have gained several additional months to enhance their preparation and improve their chances of selection.
