PAN Card: Using Aadhaar, you can create e-PAN from home in minutes, apply like this

A PAN card has become an essential document for a variety of financial and official purposes. It may be government services. However, if you don't yet have a PAN, you don't need to visit a cyber cafe or required for banking services, income tax matters, investments, major financial transactions, and various government office to apply for one.

The Income Tax Department's Instant e-PAN facility allows eligible individuals to apply for an electronic PAN online using their Aadhaar number and Aadhaar-linked mobile number. The process is designed to be quick and easy, allowing applicants to obtain their e-PAN without having to go through a lengthy offline process.

How to apply for e-PAN from home?

To apply for an instant e-PAN, visit the Income Tax Department's e-filing portal, incometax.gov.in. On the homepage, go to the 'Quick Links' section and select 'Instant e-PAN.' On the next page, click on 'Get New e-PAN.'

You will then be asked to enter your Aadhaar number. After entering it, accept the declaration and proceed. A six-digit OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. Enter the OTP to complete the verification process.

The system may then verify your date of birth and other KYC details and redirect you to DigiLocker for document verification. You may need to grant permission to share your date of birth or required documents. After reviewing your personal details and photograph, carefully verify the information and submit the request.

Who is eligible for instant e-PAN?

To use the instant e-PAN facility, applicants must have a valid 12-digit Aadhaar number and a mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP authentication. Importantly, this facility is available to those who have not previously been allotted a PAN.
