New Delhi: The Congress has got a landslide victory in the Karnataka assembly elections and has secured a majority. The Congress high command is now churning on who will become the CM of Karnataka. The names of Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar and former CM Siddaramaiah are coming to the fore in the race for the post of CM. Meanwhile, Shivakumar has given a statement, which is in discussion.

A mother will give everything to her child: Shivakumar
DK Shivakumar said, 'Congress party is my God, my temple and my mother. God and mother know what to give to children. I am going to the temple to meet my God. The general secretary has asked to come alone, so I am going alone.

Before leaving for Delhi, Shivkumar said that our number is 135. I don't want to divide anyone here. If the party wants, they will give me the responsibility. I will not backstab and I will not blackmail.

He said that we have made this party (Congress), we have made this house. I am part of it. A mother will give everything to her child. Sonia Gandhi is our role model. Congress is family for all. Our constitution is very important, so we have to protect everyone's interest.

Before leaving for Delhi, he said, "Winning 20 seats (in the Lok Sabha polls) is our next challenge." We have a joint house, I don't want to divide anyone here. I am a responsible person. I won't backstab and I won't blackmail either. I don't want to go down in the wrong history, I don't want to go with a bad note.
