After the Education Ministry announced that CBSE board exams will be conducted twice a year, it has said that candidates will have the option to maintain the best score. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams twice a year are not mandatory for all students and it has been introduced as an option to reduce the stress of students.

In an interview with PTI, Pradhan said the issue of 'dummy schools' cannot be ignored and the time has come to have a serious discussion on it.

NCF said that according to the new curriculum framework of the Education Ministry, students of classes 11 and 12 will study two languages ​​instead of one. "Board exams will be offered at least twice a year to ensure that students have adequate time and opportunity to perform well. Students can then take board exams in the subjects they have completed and If they feel prepared for the exam, they will also be allowed to retain their best score.

He said- "Students will have the option to appear for the engineering entrance exam like JEE twice a year (Class 10 and 12 boards). They can choose the best score... but it will be completely optional, no compulsion."

Pradhan also talked about the increasing cases of student suicide in Kota and said that no life should be lost and the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure this. "Student suicide in Kota is a sensitive issue, it is our collective responsibility to keep students stress-free," Pradhan said.

Education Minister Pradhan also said that guidelines for foreign universities to set up their campuses in India will be announced soon. A Central Education Advisory Board is also being reconstituted to meet the demands of today's education system.
