Agreement between Razorpay and UIDAI: An important agreement has been reached between Razorpay and UIDAI, after which payment can now be made online while availing of Aadhaar services. In fact, UIDAI allows Aadhaar card holders to update their Aadhaar data, such as name and address, online and charges Rs 50 for these services. Razorpay will support these transactions with its payment gateway.

UIDAI does transactions of Rs 80,000 daily.
The UIDAI website currently handles over 80,000 transactions daily and a robust payment solution was required to ensure a high success rate while handling such a large volume of transactions. The Razorpay tie-up will enable citizens to access Aadhaar services online to enjoy a seamless safe payment experience. The Razorpay-UIDAI partnership started a few months ago. This facility was provided by Canara Bank. It is estimated that Razorpay will eventually support more than 70% of the daily transactions on the UIDAI portal. This tie-up has already proved to be helpful for UIDAI with a high success rate and ease of use.

A Razorpay spokesperson said, “The partnership between Razorpay and UIDAI is a positive step towards providing citizens across the country a seamless secure payment experience using online Aadhaar services. With the ability to handle large volumes of transactions and provide a maximum success rate, we are confident that this partnership will be of immense benefit to both parties. Razorpay currently works with several government agencies and PSUs such as National Pension System, IRCTC, Bharat Kosh, IOCL and BPCL.
