New rule came in IPL 2025, now there will be no dispute on wide and no ball! BCCI brought new technology

IPL New Rule For No Ball: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying hard to ensure that there is no scope for error in out-not out or other decisions in the Indian Premier League. Now the BCCI has come up with a new way to decide no-ball or wide on short balls. Currently in IPL, a bowler can bowl 2 bouncers in an over. The third short ball in the same over is termed as a no-ball. Let us remind you that in IPL 2024, a new technology was invented to detect no-balls by measuring the height of the player's waist. Now the board has taken a step forward in the same direction.

A source quoted by the Times of India said, "When the batsman stands inside the crease, his waist height, shoulder height and head height will be measured. This data will be uploaded to the system used by the Hawk-Eye operators. This operator sits with the third umpire. This reveals waist-height full-toss balls, bouncers, no balls and wide balls. The data taken from the players will be helpful in full-toss balls and other decisions during batting according to them."

Clouds of crisis loom over the first match of IPL 2025

The first match of IPL 2025 is to be played between KKR and RCB in Kolkata. But due to the possibility of heavy rain and storm in Kolkata, an orange alert was issued from 20-22 March. The opening ceremony of IPL 2025 is to be held on March 22, in which big stars like Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh and Disha Patani are speculated to perform. Unfortunately, there are chances of rain which may wash out the opening ceremony and the first match.
