In IPL 2023, the team of Chennai Super Kings became the first team to reach the final. On Tuesday, they beat defending champions Gujarat Titans by 15 runs. Earlier the team became champions in 2021 and then former cricketer Robin Uthappa was instrumental in CSK's victory. Uthappa performed brilliantly in Qualifier-1 and the final. He scored 63 runs in 44 balls against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier-1 and a blistering 31 runs in 15 balls in the final. Now on Tuesday, Uthappa had to face disappointment when he posted a picture on social media with his son in support of CSK. After this, a fan of Kolkata Knight Riders tried to troll him, but the former CSK star gave a befitting reply to that fan.

In fact, Uthappa spent the last two years of his IPL career with the Chennai Super Kings. He keeps mentioning all the time the support and love he got from CSK. Also, do not get tired of praising Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and coach Stephen Fleming. On Tuesday, Uthappa posted a picture wishing CSK all the best from the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. In this, Uthappa and his son were seen in CSK jerseys. He wrote in the caption - Let's go Chennai Super Kings. However, his tweet didn't go down well with some fans of his old team.

A fan asked the question why didn't he show the same love for Kolkata Knight Riders? A Twitter user named Rajasthani Bateman wrote in the comment – Brother, you spent only two seasons with Chennai Super Kings and left your heart there. I have never seen you supporting KKR like this. On this, Uthappa gave a befitting reply to that fan. He wrote – The loyalty and respect you keep for others, you will get the same.

After this, Uthappa made another tweet, in which he told that he is not surprised to see the hatred that people have towards him. He wrote – I am not surprised by the hate I am receiving here for my experience. Peace and love to all of you!! In fact, Uthappa spent a significant part of his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders. He was on the KKR team from 2014 to 2019. Uthappa was instrumental in KKR's trophy win in 2014. He was the highest run-scorer in the tournament that year and won the Orange Cap.

Then Gautam Gambhir was the captain of KKR. Gambhir left Kolkata in 2018. It was then believed that Uthappa would be made the captain of KKR for the 2018 IPL. However, the team management chose Dinesh Karthik as the new captain and Uthappa was given the responsibility of just the vice-captain. After this Uthappa was a part of Rajasthan Royals in 2020 and in 2021 Chennai Super Kings traded him from Rajasthan. His contribution to making Chennai the champion in 2021 was important. Uthappa retired the same year after a poor run of form in the 2022 IPL.

Uthappa recently said during a show – I will not play in IPL as I have already retired from Indian cricket. However, if I ever get a chance to play IPL, the team will be CSK. The team of Chennai Super Kings made it to the IPL final for a record 10th time on Tuesday. At the same time, Gujarat will now have to play Qualifier-2 to be held on 26 May. The Gujarat team will take on the winner of the eliminator between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians today. After this, the final will be played on 28 May.
