Board of Control for in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah on Thursday said that the future of Asia 2023 will be discussed after the IPL. The matter regarding the host of the Asia is yet to be resolved. While Pakistan is vying to host the tournament, the Asian Council (ACC) is looking for a new host. Actually, the President of ACC is Jai Shah and he had said last year that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan. He had said that it could be done in a neutral country. Now Jai Shah has given a new update on this matter. He has said that the final decision regarding the Asia will be taken after the IPL 2023 final.
Jai Shah said, “The respective presidents of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka Board will come to Ahmedabad on May 28. All these will grace the Tata IPL 2023 final to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium. We will discuss with him to chalk out the future course of action regarding Asia 2023. Interestingly, the name of Pakistan Board President Najam Sethi is missing from it. That is, the invitation has not been sent to them. Earlier, Sri Lanka (SLC) and Bangladesh Board (BCB) supported the BCCI in shifting this year's Asia tournament out of Pakistan.

Najam Sethi is eager to have the Asia in his country. Pakistan is opposed to the Asia being held at a neutral venue and had also offered a hybrid model. The PCB's proposal to organize the tournament on a 'hybrid model' was rejected by the member nations. It was said in this model that Pakistan would play all its matches in its own country. At the same time, Team India can play its matches in UAE, Dubai, Oman, or Sri Lanka.
The ACC says that due to the extreme heat in the UAE in the month of September, there will be a fear of injury to the players. In such a situation, Sri Lanka is at the forefront of the race to host the six-nation tournament. The Pakistan Board has also threatened several times that if India does not come to Pakistan for the Asia , then their team will also boycott the World to be held in India this year.
Apart from this, PCB had also alleged that BCCI is organizing a tournament with other Asian countries on the lines of the Asia without Pakistan. However, the BCCI denied these things. According to media reports, Najam Sethi's stand is now clear that if there are no Asia matches in Pakistan, the Pakistan team will not play in the Asia .
