iPhone Fold: Apple's first foldable iPhone has been in the news for a long time, and it's believed the company could introduce it in the near future. Over the past few weeks, numerous leaks have surfaced regarding its features and hardware. Now, a new piece of information has revealed a new design, suggesting major changes to the camera design and button placement.

The all-black camera platform will give it a distinct identity.

According to leaks, the iPhone Fold's camera module design may be different from existing iPhone models. It's said to feature a camera platform similar to the iPhone Air, but instead of a body color, it could come with an all-black camera section.

This camera setup will include two cameras aligned in a single line, along with a microphone and flash. This design is somewhat reminiscent of the iPad Pro's camera layout and could give Apple's first foldable phone a distinct identity.

May launch in limited colors

According to reports, the iPhone Fold won't have many color options at launch. White is currently considered a near-certainty. However, since Apple typically offers an additional shade, we're expecting another color option.

Changed button layout

Button placement on the iPhone Fold may also differ from traditional iPhones. According to reports, the volume buttons could be shifted upwards, similar to the iPad mini. Meanwhile, the Touch ID and camera controls, which were previously located on the power button, will remain on the right side.

The left side of the device could be completely clear, giving the phone a more minimalist and sleek look. This change could make it easier to use both in folded and unfolded positions.

Smaller Dynamic Island and no Face ID design

The leak also suggests that the iPhone Fold could feature a smaller Dynamic Island. A single punch-hole design could be adopted for the front camera. To keep the thickness under control, this model could feature Touch ID instead of Face ID.

Possible features of the iPhone Fold

According to information available so far, the iPhone Fold could feature a 7.8-inch crease-less inner display based on an OLED panel. The outer screen is said to be around 5.5 inches, which would be the smallest display ever seen on a modern iPhone.

For performance, it could be powered by the upcoming A20 Pro chipset. The camera setup is expected to include four cameras, two on the rear and two for selfies and video calling.

Launch timeline and expected price

According to reports, the iPhone Fold could be introduced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026. Pricing could reach around $2,400 in the US, placing it in the premium category in the Indian market.
