Frequent urination may not be a normal habit, but it may be a sign of an overactive bladder, urinary tract infection, or kidney disease. If it is accompanied by symptoms like blood, pain, or fever, contact the doctor immediately.

If you have gotten into the habit of urinating frequently throughout the day and this number is more than the normal 7 to 8 times, then do not take it lightly. This problem is sometimes a sign of some serious disease. Experts say that frequent urination can often be associated with diseases like overhectic bladder, urinary tract infection, diabetes or prostate. 

This is a problem in which there is a sudden and frequent urge to urinate. Sometimes the patient is unable to hold urine. Overactive bladder affects sleep, work and social life. If not treated in time, it can become a major problem. According to the doctor, there can be many reasons for this. 

  • Urinary tract infection: In this there is burning sensation and foul smell with urine. 
  • Diabetes: When the sugar level is high, the kidney expels extra glucose. 
  • Pregnancy: the uterus puts pressure on the bladder 
  • Kidney infection or bladder stone: Both conditions can cause frequent urination. 
  • Sometimes the effect of some medicines and constant stress also cause this problem.

This can cause serious damage to the kidney and bladder. For overactive bladder, medicines and bladder training exercises are used. Whereas UTI and kidney infection are treated with antibiotics. It is important to control sugar level in diabetes. Apart from this, prostate problems are treated with medicines or surgery. Experts say that to prevent the problem, stay away from caffeine and alcohol, drink adequate amount of water, reduce stress and exercise regularly.
