The ministry said in its statement that no decision has been taken yet to remove the FASTag system and implement the satellite tolling system across the country from May 1, 2025. Actually, the government is considering bringing a new technology in the coming days. So that the time spent waiting at the toll can be saved. The government is working on testing a new technology. The name of this new technology is ANPR-FASTag based barrier-less tolling system.
Let us tell you that the full form of ANPR is Automatic Number Plate Recognition, that is, a technology that can recognize the number plate of a vehicle. This system will be linked with the current Fastag. After it is linked, vehicles will not have to stop at the toll plaza.
