Unnao Rape Case: The victim's lawyer, Mahmood Pracha, said, "We believed the CBI would hide things from us, and they did. The victim said Kuldeep Sengar should be hanged."

Unnao rape victim's lawyer Mahmood Pracha makes a big allegation against CBI.
The Supreme Court on Monday (December 29, 2025) stayed the Delhi High Court's order suspending Kuldeep Singh Sengar's life sentence in the 2017 Unnao rape case. A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice JK Maheshwari, and Justice Augustine George Masih issued notice to Sengar seeking his response on the CBI's petition challenging the High Court's order. Meanwhile, the victim's lawyer, Mahmood Pracha, has raised questions about the investigating agency.
CBI is not cooperating: Mehmood Pracha
Mahmood Pracha said the CBI is still not cooperating. Speaking to news agency ANI, the victim's lawyer said, "We thought the CBI would hide things from us, and they did. They (the CBI) withheld the copies until last night. This has been a strategy not only in this case, but also in the Hathras case."
Kuldeep Sengar gets the death penalty: Victim.
The victim's family has expressed happiness over the Supreme Court's stay order. The victim said, "I am very happy with the court's decision. I received justice from the Supreme Court and am confident that I will continue to receive it. I will continue to fight this battle and ensure that he is hanged; only then will our family receive true justice. I am grateful to everyone who stood with me and helped me achieve justice. My father's soul will find peace only when Kuldeep Singh Sengar is hanged."
Law should work without any pressure: Kuldeep Sengar's sister.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Sengar's younger daughter, Ishita Sengar, posted on Instagram that her family has been silently waiting for justice for the past eight years and has maintained its faith in the law and institutions. She wrote that her identity has been reduced to that of the daughter of a BJP MLA and that she has faced constant hate, abuse, and threats on social media. She said, "My family wants neither leniency nor sympathy, but only that the law should function without any pressure or fear, and that the evidence should be investigated impartially."
