Many important bills have been passed in the Bihar Assembly. Know what big changes can prove to be for people associated with jobs, studies, and business?
Several important bills were passed in the Bihar Assembly on Thursday. These decisions will directly impact job-seeking youth, students, lawyers, small businesses, and the general public. The government claims these changes will streamline the system, making the recruitment process more transparent, curbing arbitrariness in the education system, and making doing business easier. Overall, these measures aim to simplify, streamline, and improve administrative processes, ensuring direct benefits for the public.
Direct Recruitment in Secretariat Jobs
The biggest change concerns the Bihar Secretariat Service. Now, 85% of Assistant Branch Officer positions will be filled through direct recruitment. This recruitment will be done through the Bihar Staff Selection Commission. This means that more young people will now have direct opportunities. Furthermore, previously, after getting a job, one had to remain on probation for two years; now this period has been reduced to one year. This means that selected young people will soon be able to benefit from a permanent job.
Microfinance companies under scrutiny
A new law has also been introduced regarding microfinance companies operating in the state. There have been frequent complaints that some companies charge high interest rates or exert pressure to recover funds. Now, the government will keep an eye on these companies. Under the new rules, interest rates will have to be clearly disclosed, and coercive or unfair collections will be prohibited. This will provide relief to small businesses and those in need.
Relief for lawyers
There is also good news for lawyers. The welfare fund amount has been increased from ₹25 to ₹50. This will increase future benefits for lawyers and provide them with financial security.
Control on the fees of private colleges
The government has also tightened its grip on private commercial educational institutions. A committee will now be formed to oversee the admission process and fees. Parents often complained about private colleges charging exorbitant fees. The new committee will now determine the fees and how admissions are conducted. This is expected to provide relief to students and their families.
Doing business will be easier.
The government has also approved the Bihar Amendment Bill. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said the aim is to make business easier in the state. Legal hassles related to minor technical matters will be reduced. This will relieve businesses of unnecessary hassles and help them expand their businesses.
