Delhi Literature Festival begins, Spanish Ambassador Juan Antonio attends, and several writers are honored

Delhi Literature Festival 2026: The Delhi Literature Festival 2026 has begun at IGNCA. The festival will last for three days and will honor many authors.

 

 

 

The 14th edition of the Delhi Literature Festival began on Friday at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in Delhi. This literary extravaganza, spanning three days, will showcase a beautiful blend of books, authors, art, and culture. This special event was inaugurated by Vijender Gupta, Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vijender Gupta said that literature is not limited to stories and books; it provides a way for society to think and understand. He added that literature connects us to our culture and civilization and guides the new generation on the right path.

 

Spanish Ambassador Juan Antonio March Pujol was also present on the occasion. His presence gave the event international recognition. Festival Chairperson Bharti Bhargava stated that the purpose of this event is not only to discuss development, but also to preserve and promote our cultural heritage. She explained that positive change can be brought about in society through literature.

Writers honored

During the program, tribute was paid to the late renowned Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla. Later in the evening, the "Author Awards 2026" were held. Writers from various languages ​​were honored for their outstanding writing. Awards were given in a total of 13 categories. New and emerging authors also had the opportunity to express their views on this platform, which encouraged young writers. The first day concluded with a special session by Acharya Prashant. A large number of people attended this session and listened attentively.

The Delhi Literature Festival will run until February 8th. In the coming days, renowned writers and poets like Seema Anand, Nilotpal Mrinal, and Shambhu Shikhar will share their works and ideas with the public. There will be book discussions, poetry readings, and exchanges of ideas.
