Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has suffered a major setback during IPL 2026. The team's young star batsman, Ayush Mhatre, has been ruled out of the entire season. The franchise officially announced Mhatre's exit. Chennai is already going through a difficult phase, winning only two out of six matches and losing four.
The franchise issued an official statement on social media regarding Mhatre, writing, "Ayush Mhatre has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a left hamstring injury sustained while batting during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18. Ayush's injury will require 6 to 8 weeks of rehab."

Ayush Mhatre played six league matches for Chennai this season, scoring 201 runs in six innings at an average of 33.50 and a strike rate of 177.87.
