YouTube Custom Feed: You'll now be able to control your own choices on YouTube. The recommendation system will no longer suggest videos you like. You'll be able to create your own feed.

YouTube Custom Feed: Watch only your favorite videos on YouTube like this
YouTube Custom Feed: Until now, YouTube 's recommendation system used to work on its own. It would first see what kind of videos you liked and then send videos to your feed as per its own choice. Within a few days, these videos would start to become boring. The result is that despite countless videos appearing in the feed one after the other, not a single one is to your liking. Now, YouTube is going to change this game with a new feature. It will give you the option to create your own feed. After creating the feed, the algorithm will be overruled and all the videos of your choice will appear in it.
Create your own feed like this
YouTube has stated that users will now see a custom feed chip near the home option. Tapping on this will open a text box where you'll need to describe your video preferences. You can enter a specific topic or a broad idea prompt. Google will also assist you by providing suggestions. Based on this prompt, YouTube's AI system will then create a custom feed for you. This prompt can be edited at any time, and you'll also be able to add new topics of your choice.
These limitations will remain on custom feeds
YouTube has also imposed some limitations on custom feeds. The company says that an account can only have one custom feed active at a time. This means that users won't have the option to create and switch between different feeds based on their mood. There's also a time limit attached to this. If a custom feed remains inactive for 30 days, it will expire. Furthermore, the option to create custom feeds will only be available to users whose account's search history and watch history are enabled. Another limitation concerns availability. Currently, it has only been rolled out to users in the US who are signed in to their account and have the English language selected.
Creators are bound to be affected
Whenever YouTube makes any changes to its homepage, it inevitably impacts creators. Now, this new feature could provide a major boost to creators who make long-form videos. Now, as users select topics of their choice, accounts producing longer videos may start appearing in the feed again.
