How much discount on electric vehicles in which state?
EV policies have been introduced in most states of the country under the FAME subsidy scheme. Under these schemes, people are given benefits on purchasing electric cars. Last month, the Gujarat government announced a 5 percent tax exemption on fully electric vehicles in the state, reducing the total tax to just 1 percent, this facility will remain applicable in the state till March 31, 2026.
- In Maharashtra EV Policy, EV vehicles will get complete exemption i.e. 100 percent exemption from motor vehicle tax, registration renewal fees. Apart from this, there is also a provision of 100 percent exemption from toll tax on Mumbai-Pune and Mumbai-Nashik Expressway.
- Uttar Pradesh's EV Policy 2022 talks about a discount of Rs 5000 on the purchase of an EV scooter, Rs 1 lakh on a car, Rs 20 lakh on a bus and up to Rs 1 lakh on an e-freight carrier.
- Talking about Delhi's proposed EV policy, one can get a good subsidy on buying an electric two-wheeler. In this, a total discount of up to Rs 30,000 can be given at the rate of Rs 10,000 per kilowatt-hour. For women riders, this amount can be even higher, up to Rs 36,000.
