What is a Hydrocele
A hydrocele is a fluid-filled sac that forms around the testicles . This condition is usually caused by an imbalance in that area. It is most commonly seen in newborns, but sometimes occurs in older people as well , especially when an infection occurs.
Symptoms of Hydrocele
- The scrotum starts swelling .
- This swelling is usually painless, but in some cases the large size and swelling of the testicles may cause discomfort.
How will the treatment and surgery be done?
Surgery may be needed . Surgery, called a hydrocelectomy , involves draining the fluid and closing the sac. This procedure is done if the hydrocele is causing significant discomfort, is growing large over time, or there are other complications .
What is a hernia
A hernia occurs when an internal organ or muscle weakens or protrudes out of a space or hole. It often appears as a bulge in the lower abdominal area. Hernias can occur in many locations, but the most common are inguinal hernias (above the thighs and in the lower abdominal area).
Symptoms of a hernia
- A lump or bulge visible in the affected area , which becomes more visible when coughing , lifting heavy objects , or applying strain.
- Pain or discomfort at the site of the lump , especially with physical activity .
