The bridge was already dilapidated.

This iron bridge was about 30 years old. It was rusted and was in a very dilapidated condition. It could not bear the weight of so many people and vehicles and broke down.

Actually, it has been raining continuously for two days in Pune. In such a situation, the flow of Indrayani river is also very fast. In the area where this accident happened, the depth of the river is not much, but due to the fast flow, getting into the river is fatal. Therefore, people were either standing next to the river or on the bridge.

NDRF team is engaged in rescue work.

Those who fell on the rocks near the river have suffered serious injuries. However, it should be considered that they were lucky that they were not swept away by the water flow, because the flow of the river is very fast at the moment. Two NDRF teams and district-level rescue teams are engaged in finding those who have been swept away by the river.
