US Open prize money increased; find out how many crores the champion will get now.

A significant increase has been made to the total prize money ahead of the tennis Grand Slam US Open 2026. To give an idea of how much this will be, even the losing finalist will receive more money than the IPL champion.

2026 US Open Tennis Prize Money
The 146th edition of the tennis Grand Slam US Open will be played from August 30 to September 13. A record increase has been set for the event. This year's total prize money is $108 million (Rs 1034 crore), the highest in tennis Grand Slam history. This represents a 20% increase compared to last year. The United States Tennis Association announced the prize money on Thursday.
The semi-finalists will receive Rs 13.88 crore.
The main event begins on August 30 and runs until September 13. Each player who makes it to the main draw will receive $140,000 (approximately Rs. 13.4 million). Those who reach the quarterfinals will receive $780,000 (approximately Rs. 74.6 million). The losing semifinalists will receive $145,000 (approximately Rs. 138.8 million).
The losing finalist, the runner-up, will receive $2.8 million (approximately Rs 26.80 crore). This amount is also approximately Rs 6 crore more than the IPL champion team.
How many crores will the champion get in singles?
The winners of the men's and women's singles titles will receive $5.5 million (approximately Rs 52.65 crore) in prize money. Last year's champions received $5 million. This is more than double the amount received by previous IPL champions, approximately Rs 12 crore.
How many crores will the winners get in doubles?
The winning team in the men's, women's, and mixed doubles events at the 2026 US Open will receive $1 million (approximately Rs 95.7 million). The losing team will receive $500,000 (approximately Rs 47.8 million). The winner of the wheelchair singles event will receive $104,000 (approximately Rs 995.8 million).
The mixed doubles competition at the 2026 US Open will begin on August 25th. Last year's men's singles champion, Carlos Alcaraz, will defend his title, having already won the US Open singles twice. In women's singles, Aryna Sabalenka has been the winner for the past two years (2024 and 2025) and will be looking to achieve a hat-trick of titles.
