The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 begins today, with lakhs of aspiring teachers appearing for one of the state's largest recruitment-related examinations. The examination will be conducted over three days across multiple districts in Uttar Pradesh, with candidates also travelling from several other states to participate.

Lucknow is expected to record the largest turnout during the examination.

  • Expected candidates: Around 96,454 over the three-day examination period

UPTET 2026 Exam Timings

The examination will be conducted in two shifts each day:

First Shift

  • 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Second Shift

  • 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM

Candidates should note that entry to the examination centre will close 45 minutes before the start of each shift. No candidate will be allowed to enter after the gates are closed, regardless of the reason for the delay.

  • Three recent passport-size photographs
  • One original valid photo identity proof, such as:
