After a prophecy, Kansa imprisoned his sister and brother-in-law. The prison in which Kanha was born is today known as Krishna Janmabhoomi. Krishna Janmabhoomi has been prepared as a beautiful temple. This temple is considered to be the most important pilgrimage place of the Vallabh sect of the Vaishnav sect. Nathdwara is located on the banks of the Banas River in Rajsamand district, about 48 km from Udaipur. When the cruel Mughal ruler Aurangzeb ordered the demolition of the temple of Gokul, Vallabha Goswami brought the idol from here to Nathdwara and re-established the idol here.
