How much will be charged for cancelling a confirmed ticket?
If you cancel a General Class (2S) ticket 48 hours before the departure time of the train, then Indian Railways deducts a cancellation charge of Rs 60 per passenger. At the same time, a deduction of Rs 120 is made for the sleeper class. Whereas, on cancellation of AC chair car and third AC tickets, a charge of Rs 180 will be deducted. Apart from this, if you cancel the second AC ticket, you may have to bear a loss of Rs 200. At the same time, Rs 240 is deducted as a cancellation charge from First AC and Executive class passengers. Along with this, the GST charge is also deducted.
How much is charged for cancelling tickets 12 hours in advance?
If you cancel your ticket less than 48 hours or 12 hours before the departure time of the train, 25% of the ticket amount is deducted. Whereas, if you cancel your ticket less than 12 hours and 4 hours before the train opens, then 50% of your amount will be deducted. However, if you cancel the ticket 1-2 hours before the departure of the train, you will not get a single rupee refund.
