Japfu Peak of Kohima
Trekking lovers will like this place located in Kohima city of Nagaland. After going here, you will feel as if you have come to Switzerland. The mountains here will seem similar to Switzerland. From here you can also see Juku Valley. After reaching the height of Japfu Peak, you will feel like flying with the clouds.
Because only clouds will be visible all around you. The mist floating around the mountain at the top will make you feel like heaven. While going here, keep in mind to wear good warm clothes, because you will feel very cold at the peak.
- How will the journey be completed? To reach Japfu Peak, you will cover more than half the distance by cab. You will have to trek for an hour to reach the peak. This place is at an altitude of 10,118-feet above sea level.
- Keep in mind that if you feel things like difficulty breathing and dizziness at height, leave the trekking and come back down.
- Travel Time- For this trek you will have to travel in the morning before sunrise.
Mount Tiyi
Located in the Wokha district of Nagaland, this place is famous as a mysterious place. The story of this mountain, 74 km from Kohima, is linked to mythological events. It is believed that if you go here, you will realize it during the trekking route. This mountain is also said to be the abode of souls. But trekking enthusiasts still go here. Its height is 6,459 feet above sea level.
Dzukou Valley
Djuko Valley, bordering the states of Manipur and Nagaland, is a beautiful place. Its distance from Kohima is 22 km. To go trekking here, the journey has to start from Vishwema village. It may take about 4 hours to climb the mountain and reach this valley. Here you will be trekking at altitudes ranging from 5,000 feet to 7,900 feet.
