Tom Cruise is ready to return to the big screen with the explosive action thriller Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and fans can’t wait. Scheduled to release in India on May 17, the film has already ignited a frenzy with its advance booking figures, signaling a thunderous start at the box office.
This latest installment, the eighth in the Mission: Impossible franchise, is being hailed as one of the biggest Hollywood releases of the year. While the film will hit Indian theatres on May 17, international audiences will have to wait until May 23. The growing anticipation is clearly visible in ticket sales.
Massive Pre-Release Numbers
According to a report by Pinkvilla, by 10 PM on May 15, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning had already sold around 75,000 tickets across India’s top cinema chains — PVR Inox and Cinepolis. Industry experts predict that the total could cross 1.5 lakh tickets before the first show even begins, putting the film on track for a blockbuster opening.
In the race for Hollywood’s highest advance bookings in India, this film currently holds the second position, just behind Barbie, which leads the chart.
Fan Craze Peaks
The film is a direct sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which released in 2023 under the direction of Christopher McQuarrie. In its first 24 hours, the new film reportedly sold 11,000 tickets, proving that Tom Cruise’s fanbase is as solid as ever.
As theatres gear up for packed houses, all eyes are now on how The Final Reckoning performs on Day 1 — and whether it can break records previously set by its own franchise.
