The officials will meet at the Wankhede Stadium to discuss the team.

Team India is in Group A, along with Pakistan, the United States, the Netherlands, and Namibia. India and Sri Lanka are joint hosts of the tournament. If Pakistan reaches the final, the title match will be played in Sri Lanka, the final will be held in India.

India's final T20I series before the 2026 T20I World Cup will be against New Zealand. The five-match T20I series between India and New Zealand begins on January 21st, with the final match on January 31st. The squad for the T20I series against New Zealand and the World Cup will be the same, so when Ajit Agarkar announces the squad at the press conference, it will be for both the T20I World Cup and the T20I series against New Zealand.

According to ICC rules, all teams must announce their squads 30 days before the start of the tournament.
