After the ceremony, the first match of the tournament was played between defending champion Islamabad United and two-time winner Lahore Qalandars, in which Islamabad won by 8 wickets. This time a total of 34 matches will be played in the 10th edition of PSL, out of which three will be double headers. These matches will be held in Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi. The final match will be played on May 18 at the newly-built Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
