The much-awaited India vs Pakistan match in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While cricket fans are struggling to get last-minute tickets, netizens were shocked to know their reselling price.
Tickets for the India vs Pakistan match went live several weeks ago on BookMyShow, the official ticketing partner of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Although the tickets sold out within hours of going live, the selling prices for these tickets have skyrocketed.
Base level tickets for the IND vs PAK match in the World Cup 2023 were being sold for Rs 2200, while lounge and higher level tickets were available for sale for around Rs 15,000. According to a Bloomberg report, a person sold his ticket for this great match at a price 10 times more than the original price.
Bloomberg cited a person who bought an India vs Pakistan ticket for Rs 2200 when the tickets went on sale but resold his ticket just two days before the match. Now, the reselling price of IND vs PAK tickets was Rs 22,000.
Nikhil Wadhwani sold his ticket on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and saw massive bidding. "I was absolutely amazed at the demand," said Wadhwani, who works on the trading desk of Nomura Holdings Inc. in India's financial capital. "I was bombarded with messages with offers that were much bigger than I expected."
Earlier, a black market ticket website was selling front-row seat tickets for the much-awaited World Cup match for up to Rs 19 lakh. The last time India played against Pakistan was in the Asia Cup 2023 when the match was stopped several times due to rain.
