Shoe Companies: A lottery for shopaholics, this government decision will provide discounts and offers on shoes.

Discount on Shoes: There is good and relieving news for shoe lovers, as the government has given shoe companies one year's time to clear their old stock.

The government has given a big relief to shoe companies.

Shoe Companies: Before the festive season arrives, people wait for sales and indulge in a lot of shopping. People tend to buy whatever they're passionate about. For example, many people who have a shoe collection are definitely worth reading this news. If you're planning to buy shoes on sale in the coming days, this news may be a bit disappointing.

The government has given shoe companies a little more time to sell their old stock. This time isn't just a short period, but a full year. Shoe companies can now clear their old stock by July 31, 2027. Previously, the deadline for clearing
this stock was July 31, 2026.

Shopkeepers have found
some relief following this government decision. They no longer need to hold sales to quickly clear their stock, or be forced to sell shoes at lower prices. This doesn't mean festive season sales won't be held; they will certainly be, but shopkeepers won't need to hold sales to clear their stock.

Why was this decision taken?
The government made this decision because the shoe business is seasonal . Shoes that don't sell are left unsold until the next season. Therefore, after this date, only shoes certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) will be allowed to be sold in India.

Domestic production will receive a boost.
New government regulations now allow companies to import 4,500 pairs of samples each year. These samples will not be for sale, but rather for testing and understanding new designs. This will facilitate understanding of domestic production and will also be used to showcase shoes to retailers.
