Pre-booking for 'Eternal Light' opens on the Dalai Lama's 91st birthday; new biography to be published on July 30

This book presents in a simple manner the important events in the life of the Dalai Lama, the modern history of Tibet and the struggles of the Tibetan community living in exile and their efforts to preserve their cultural identity.

 

 

Pre-booking of the new biography of the 14th Dalai Lama has started on his 91st birthday.

To mark the 14th Dalai Lama's 91st birthday, Westland Books has opened pre-booking for his new biography, "Eternal Light: The Life and Legacy of the 14th Dalai Lama." The book, written by senior journalist and author Dr. Arvind Yadav, will be published on July 30, 2026.

This book presents key events in the Dalai Lama's life, Tibet's modern history, and the Tibetan community's struggles in exile to preserve their cultural identity in a simple and factual manner. It traces his journey from childhood to becoming one of the world's most respected spiritual leaders.

Regarding the book, the Dalai Lama said he was pleased that the biography would be available in English, Hindi, and Telugu. This would enable more people to understand the history of Tibet and the challenges faced by its people.
