Shukra Pradosh Vrat Vidhi
- The devotee observing the fast on this day should take a bath in the morning, wear clean clothes and take a vow to observe the fast.
- A fast is observed on this day. Some people eat only fruits, while others observe a complete waterless fast.
- In the evening, take bath again and wear clean clothes.
- Perform an anointment of Lord Shiva with Panchamrit (milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, and Ganga water). Then, offer him Bel leaves, Datura, sandalwood paste, whole grains, and flowers.
- Chant Shiv Chalisa, Mahamrityunjay Mantra and “Om Namah Shivay” Mantra
- After the puja, perform aarti of Lord Shiva and distribute prasad.
- On this day, donating food, clothes and money to the poor and needy is considered auspicious.
