The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is run by the central government to provide financial assistance to farmers in the country. Under this scheme, eligible farmer families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually. This amount is deposited directly into farmers' bank accounts in three installments. However, not every farmer benefits from this scheme. The government has established certain eligibility and disqualification criteria.
The rules also apply to those in government jobs.
To benefit from PM Kisan, the farmer must have agricultural land in his or her name. However, just because the land is in their name doesn't automatically mean they will receive the benefit. In some cases, where the farmer or their family members are in government jobs, the PM Kisan benefits are not available. Furthermore, those who are currently working or have previously held government positions are excluded from the scheme.
Additionally, those who pay income tax are not eligible for the PM Kisan Yojana. The scheme's rules also apply to those receiving certain types of government pensions.
Will I get my money back if I provide wrong information?
To avail of PM Kisan benefits, farmers must provide accurate information about their land, Aadhaar, bank account, income, and family. If incorrect information is found during verification of government records, beneficiaries may be removed from the list.
If a person has availed the benefit of the scheme despite being ineligible by providing wrong information, then the amount received from the government can be demanded back.
Therefore, farmers benefiting from PM Kisan should periodically check their eligibility. Any changes to land, Aadhaar, or bank account records must be updated promptly. If you haven't received your installment, it's best to check your PM Kisan status and contact the relevant department.
