The impact of India’s Operation Sindoor has rippled through Pakistan, stirring both the general public and notable celebrities alike. In response to India's decisive retaliation to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Pakistani stars have voiced their reactions, with Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan being the most outspoken.
Mahira Khan’s Fiery Response
Actress Mahira Khan, known for her roles in Indian films, took to social media to express her anger over India’s military action. She first shared her frustration in a story on Instagram, calling the operation “cowardly” and praying for the safety and understanding of her own country. Her post soon followed, where she accused India of fueling division and spreading hate.
“I am so grateful that I live in a country where I can say whatever I want,” Mahira began, reflecting on the freedom she enjoys in Pakistan. She continued, “When something wrong happens on our own land, we speak up. We condemn violence, wherever it happens, even when my country Pakistan is immediately blamed without any evidence.” She expressed her deep concern over India’s rhetoric of war and hate, which, according to her, has been ongoing for years.
She also criticized India for celebrating its attack as a "victory" and condemned the genocide and war crimes committed in the past, claiming that silence in the face of such actions is India’s greatest defeat. “You attacked cities in the dark of night and you call it your victory? Shame on you,” she wrote. Mahira ended her post with a plea for peace and unity, urging Pakistan to refrain from retaliating in kind.
Fawad Khan’s Call for Peace
In a similar vein, Fawad Khan, another famous Pakistani actor, also condemned India’s actions. He shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram story, offering condolences to the victims of the attack. “My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack,” Fawad wrote. He added that his thoughts were with the families affected, offering prayers for their strength in the difficult days ahead.
Fawad also called for an end to the rhetoric of violence, urging both sides to stop fueling further division. “Stop fuelling the fire with provocative words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people,” he stated, advocating for peace over conflict.
