Google has rolled out Gemini in Chrome for Android users in India. It also includes a new feature called Auto Browse. Learn how this new AI feature works.

Gemini Auto Browse Feature in Google Chrome
Gemini in Google Chrome will no longer just be about understanding webpages or answering questions. Google has made Gemini available in Chrome for Android users in India and has also introduced the Auto Browse feature. This feature enables AI to perform multi-step tasks like moving from one website to another. Instead of requiring users to manually perform all the tasks, Gemini can automatically complete some online tasks. So, let's explore how Auto Browse works.
Gemini in Chrome also came to Android.
Gemini in Chrome was first introduced in India for desktop users, but is now available on Android as well. It allows users to ask questions about a webpage, get a summary of long articles, and connect Gemini with apps like Google Keep and Calendar without leaving the browser. Additionally, Gemini's image generation capabilities can be utilized while browsing on a phone. This includes the option to create or edit images using Nano Banana.
How will Auto Browse itself work?
The Auto Browse feature is available in India on both desktop and Android, though it's currently available only to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. It's different from standard Autofill. While Autofill is primarily limited to filling out information in forms, Auto Browse can handle multi-step online tasks.
Gemini can gather information from various websites, fill out forms, and perform repetitive online tasks like booking parking for an event, ordering groceries, or checking hotel and flight prices for different dates.
Can do many things while shopping too
Auto Browse can also be used for more complex tasks. For example, a user can ask Gemini to find a product based on a photo. The AI can then help them compare different prices, add the right item to their cart, and apply any available discounts.
Necessary work will be done after user approval
Auto Browse can work directly on websites, so Google has also added some security features. The system can detect if a webpage contains incorrect instructions that try to mislead the AI into acting on its own. Additionally, Gemini can ask the user for permission before performing any financial transactions, privacy-related tasks, or other important actions. This ensures the user maintains control during such actions.
