Ratan Tata is an Indian business tycoon who needs no introduction. The Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons is known for his philanthropic work and is undoubtedly one of the most loved personalities in the country.

With projected revenues of $103 billion by 2021, the Tata Group is one of the largest conglomerates in the world. Despite being a successful businessman and leading the Tata Group for many years, 85-year-old Ratan Tata is not on the list of the richest people in the world.

According to IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, Ratan Tata is among the most followed Indian industrialists on social media, and his number of Twitter followers increased by 18 lakh in 2022.

Ratan Tata has a net worth of ₹3,800 crore, which is mainly derived from Tata Sons. According to IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2022, he was ranked 421st in the list of richest Indians. In 2021, he was ranked 433rd with a net worth of ₹3,500 crore. This is because about 66% of the equity of Tata Sons is held by the Tata Trusts and part of the profits are donated to support the philanthropic work of the Trust. Due to the philanthropic work done by Ratan Tata, the profits earned by the company have no impact on Ratan Tata's personal financial statements.
