UP News: A shocking incident has come to light in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, in which a Hindu-Muslim couple has accused each other of forced religious conversion. The matter became more serious when both of them lodged a complaint at the police station. The couple had married in an ashram a few days ago according to Hindu customs, but now both are accusing each other of forced religious conversion. The police have started investigating the matter after receiving complaints from both the parties and have assured action after investigation.

Allegations of religious conversion between Hindu-Muslim couple

This entire episode started when Premshankar Gupta of Bareilly accused his wife Hina Bi of forcing him to convert to Islam. Premshankar told the media that Hina's family members forced him to convert to Islam and read namaz at gunpoint. Not only this, his name was changed to Nihal Khan and he was also pressured to get circumcised. Premshankar said that he was also threatened with death, but he somehow managed to escape and save his life.

Accused wife Hina of forcibly converting to Muslim religion

Premshankar says that his wife Hina took him to Puranpur in Pilibhit and forced him to convert. Initially, they got married according to Hindu customs, but later Hina and her family forced him to do Nikaah. Hina had initially said that she would convert to Hinduism and live with Premshankar, but after marriage, her and her family's intentions changed. According to Premshankar, Hina and her family are trying to trap him. Both of them were in contact for the last two years and they were also married.

The strange love story of Premshankar and Hina of Bareilly

Hina's allegation: Premshankar forced me to convert to Hinduism

On the other hand, Hina has also accused Prem Shankar of forcibly converting to Hinduism. Hina says that the boy she loved had told his name as Nihal Khan and said that they would go to the dargah and do Nikah. But when she reached Bareilly, Prem Shankar took her to the ashram and got her married there as per Hindu customs. Hina alleges that she was forced to adopt Hinduism and she was converted to Hinduism against her will.

Police started investigation

According to Premshankar, he met Hina while working in a company in Uttarakhand. Gradually, the closeness grew between the two and they decided to get married. After this, Hina adopted Hinduism of her own free will and took seven vows with Premshankar after purification in front of Pandit KK Shankhdhar in an ashram in Bareilly. Hina changed her name to Priyanka Devi and got married according to Hindu customs on July 11 at the August Muni Ashram.

Action will be taken on complaints received from both the parties

After this incident, many videos and photos surfaced in which both of them looked happy. Hina changed her religion for the sake of love and named herself Priyanka. But when Hina's family insisted on getting Premshankar circumcised, he ran away from there and told his whole story to the police.

Pressure for Nikah and circumcision after marriage

Premshankar accused Hina and said that a few days after the marriage, on August 18, Hina took him to a dargah in Pilibhit on the pretext of her father's ill health, where her family members held him hostage and tried to force him to convert to Islam. During this time, some of Hina's relatives were pressuring him to get circumcised, but he escaped from there at night and somehow saved his life. Later, he reached Bareilly and sought help from the police.
